NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills Using Acting (QCF)


The NCFE level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills using Acting has been accredited by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is part of the Qualifications and credit Framework (QCF)  The qualification credit value is : 21 (equivalent to 1 x GCSE grade A* - C)

Aims of the course

·       Develop learners’ existing skills in performance

·       Help learners to acquire and develop fundamental practical skills, and focus on learners’ performance ability by developing critical awareness

·       Provide an opportunity to develop existing skills relating to the performance industry.


Entry Requirements

Designed for learners who may be interested in working in the performance industry.

The focus of the qualification is on the learners’ ability and desire to perform.

For learners aged pre-16.


Course structure

This is a one-year course starting in September 2014 and ending June 2015


You will complete two mandatory units:

Unit 01: Develop technique for performance

Unit 02: Rehearse and perform


And one optional unit from either:

Unit 03: Acting skills and techniques

Unit 04: Performing Scripted Plays

Unit 05: Devising Plays

* To achieve the Level 2 certificate you must successfully demonstrate your achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria as detailed in the qualification specification.  Assessment will comprise of practical demonstration and written portfolio.
